Thymus Vulgaris. Thyme contains anti viral properties, iron, and other essential minerals. It has been traditionally used as natural medicine where respiratory issues, bronchitis, and coughs are involved.
Thyme was recognized by the Romans in 8 B.C. as being a major ally to bee culture. Not only is thyme healthy for you, but also for Mother Earth. Grab a fresh plant or sow some seeds to keep this fragrant herb on hand.
Today on my IGTV {www.instagram.com/janetmeredith} account I posted a 3 minute video with the exact steps on how to make a tea from this dynamic herbal friend. Here’s the recipe:
boil water
add 1T honey to mug
add fresh squeezed juice of 1/2 lemon
add 4 {or so} sprigs of fresh thyme
pour hot water
cover
steep 10 minutes
enjoy
This tea works wonders to boost your immune system and is very simple to make. Drink it anytime and as many times per day as you feel necessary.
Fun Fact: According to the Farmer’s Almanac, burning thyme can help get rid of insects in your house! Who knew?
